VISITING US… WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

The safety and welfare of our staff and customers is of utmost importance to us, and therefore we’ve made a number of changes to the way we run the pub in line with the most recent government guidance. These include:

You:

We want the pub to feel as normal and fun as it always has and we need your help in achieving this. We ask that you do not come to the pub if you have any symptoms of Coronavirus. Please remember that you will need to wear a mask when entering and moving around the building.

How to get in:

We have put up gates in our front garden. One is an entrance (Sprowston Road side) and one is an exit. The back door by the car park is now an exit only. This is to help maintain social distancing and to ensure that staff can find you an available table before you enter. A staff member will greet you by the front door and take a name and contact number in line with government Track and Trace guidelines.

[Please note – in line with current government guidance you may have a party of upto 6 people from up to 6 households. Seating is outdoors only.]

Table service:

To minimise the amount of people moving around the pub we have moved to a table service system. There is no service at the bar. To reduce waste, we have created a QR code with our live beer and cider menu which can be accessed with a smart phone. Paper copies are also available, which are destroyed after every sitting.

Card payments only:

For a number of reasons, we have chosen to move to a cashless system. Therefore all payments must be made on card.

Queuing and moving around the pub:

Please queue along the path by the entrance as signposted, maintaining social distance from other groups. Please follow directional arrows and any signage throughout the pub.

Take Away:

All our beers and ciders are available to take away at the front door at any time during our opening hours. Please make your way to the entrance and let staff know you’d like a take away. For today’s selection, please see fatcattap.co.uk/menu.

Toilets:

The toilets remain open for use even though the pub interior is currently out of use in line with government restrictions. Please follow signage.

Rain:

We have a number of tables under cover in the gardens. If it starts raining whilst you are seated in an unsheltered area, due to social distancing, you will be unable to move to a sheltered spot, therefore please bring brollies!

Face masks:

All our crew will be wearing face masks. You must wear a face mask when queuing and moving through the premises. The only time you may remove your mask is when seated at your table.

Test and Trace:

In line with government guidelines, we are required to take a name and contact number for every member of your group. You can either use the NHS Test and Trace App with our QR reader or we can take your details manually. We will store this data securely for 21 days, after which we will destroy it. Your data will not be used for any purpose other than if required for Test and Trace.

Bookings:

We’re not taking bookings for drinks or Motherchip. Just turn up and we’ll find you a table!
