VISITING US… WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
The safety and welfare of our staff and customers is of utmost importance to us, and therefore we’ve made a number of changes to the way we run the pub in line with the most recent government guidance. These include:
We want the pub to feel as normal and fun as it always has and we need your help in achieving this. We ask that you do not come to the pub if you have any symptoms of Coronavirus. This is a new and challenging time for everyone and we ask that you respect the rules we have put in place and bare with our awesome staff whilst we all adapt to our new systems.
We are closed on Mondays in order to deep clean and reset the pub. Other opening hours can be found on our home page.
How to get in:
We have put up gates in our front garden. One is an entrance (Sprowston Road side) and one is an exit. The back door by the car park is now an exit only. This is to help maintain social distancing and to ensure that staff can find you an available table before you enter. A staff member will greet you by the front door and take a name and contact number in line with government Track and Trace guidelines.
[Please note – in line with current government guidance, your table can have up to 6 people from two households if sitting within the pub, or up to 6 people from up to 6 households if sitting in any of the gardens]
To minimise the amount of people moving around the pub we have moved to a table service system. There is no service at the bar. To reduce waste, we have created a QR code with our live beer and cider menu which can be accessed with a smart phone. Paper copies are also available, which are destroyed after every sitting.
Card payments only:
For a number of reasons, we have chosen to move to a cashless system. Therefore all payments must be made on card.
Queuing and moving around the pub:
Please queue along the path by the entrance as signposted, maintaining social distance from other groups. Please follow directional arrows and any signage throughout the pub.
All our beers and ciders are available to take away at the front door at any time during our opening hours. Please make your way to the entrance and let staff know you’d like a take away. For today’s selection, please see fatcattap.co.uk/menu.
We have 3 toilets which are all now unisex with a push over latch on the main front door of each toilet. This allows just one person in each bathroom. The toilets will be thoroughly cleaned periodically throughout the day.
We have a limited number of tables within the pub and under cover in the gardens. We recommend that you bring an umbrella and weatherproof clothing because, due to social distancing, you will be unable to move to a sheltered spot if it starts raining.
All our crew will be wearing visors. Staff who are serving customers will have clear visors to help those who need to lip read. You may wear a visor if you wish.
Track and Trace:
In line with government guidelines, we are required to take a name and contact number for a member of each group. We will store this data securely for 21 days, after which we will destroy it. Your data will not be used for any purpose other than if required for Track and Trace.
